<span style="font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Taylor Hokanson is a DIY engineer, CAD/CAM evangelist, and an Assistant Professor of Art at Columbia College Chicago. Like the digital media at the center of his research, Hokanson's practice blurs the boundaries between conceptual art and the hard sciences. He frequently works with hacked electronics, changing the function of common consumer gadgets so that they become alien and unfamiliar. His Sledgehammer-operated Keyboard (which will be on view at Dock 6) is a popular example: in changing the scale, material and interface of a common device, Hokanson asks the user to reconsider a communicative medium devalued by ease of use.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Photographer M. Tuteur has spent the past decade documenting hundreds of historic structures in various stages of abandonment and destruction throughout Chicago and other parts of Illinois. Shooting with a sense of urgency, Tuteur feels compelled to preserve the memory of these buildings and places by photographing them in natural light before they're demolished. Tuteur has also embarked on various photojournalism projects including photos of Chicago housing projects, a long-term series on former governor Rod Blagojevich's trial, as well as one on residents of the 46th ward of Chicago.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Jo Dery’s wildly inventive animated films explore and push at the techniques and boundaries of animation. Dery uses everything from collage, illustration, digital manipulation, photomontage, puppetry, and printmaking to tell short, fantastical tales that often resonate with the tone of folklore and mythology. At the root of her stories is Dery’s own life and location, be it Providence, RI (where she co-founded the seminal feminist collective Dirt Palace) or Chicago, IL, her new home since the fall of 2011.

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 10pt;">Clutch Gallery is a 25-square-inch space located in the heart of Meg Duguid's purse. The gallery is dedicated to exhibiting contemporary art of all media. Clutch opened in December 2009 and was initially intended to maintain regular programming through December 2010. Clutch will continue to run into 2011 until the gallery wears out from daily use, or the director decides that she needs more real estate to store her wallet. During its first year Clutch exhibited Catie Olson, Nick Black, Adam Sipe, Matt King, Jessica Peterson, Emily Roz, Carmelle Safdie, Meghan Wilbar, Trevor Gainer, Zachary Rawe, Danielle Ash, and Tom Burtonwood. To learn more about Clutch's exhibitions and find out where Clutch is going, follow it on Facebook, or you can make an appointment for a personal viewing time.

The shop was cleaned, our spaces set up with new pieces, and we collaborated on a 50' modular table that breaks down to 8'x10" plywood strips. It was finished with left over tinted lacquers that had been taking up valuable space in the fireproof cabinets. The randomly combined colors ended up producing a fantastic effect.
We also built the poplar serving trays and did the lighting design. Clandestino did the food, and everyone brought the drink.
